The Pharmacy College Admissions Test (PCAT) is a specialized test that helps identify qualified applicants to pharmacy colleges. it measures general academic ability and scientific knowledge needed for an education in pharmacy. It is given only on certain dates. Please check Pearson VUE for testing facilities and dates.

The PCAT consists of 192 multiple-choice questions and one essay question. You will have four hours to complete the test which includes administrative time as well as one short break half way through.

  • Writing – 30 minutes – 1 essay question
  • Biological Process – 40 minutes – 48 questions
    • General Biology – 50%
    • Microbiology – 20%
    • Human Anatomy & Physiology – 30%
  • Chemical Processes – 40 minutes – 48 questions
    • General Chemistry – 50%
    • Organic Chemistry – 30%
    • Basic Biochemistry Processes – 20%
  • Critical Reading – 50 minutes – 48 questions
    • Comprehension – 30%
    • Analysis – 40%
    • Evaluation – 30%
  • Quantitative Reasoning – 45 minutes – 48 questions
    • Basic Math – 25%
    • Algebra – 25%
    • Probability & Statistics – 18%
    • Precalculus – 18%
    • Calculus – 14%
