The NCLEX RN uses an interactive system called Computer Adaptive Testing (CAT) to gauge your level of competence. The RN test consists of anywhere from 75 to 265 questions. Most of these are multiple-choice questions, but there are also fill-in-the-blank, hot spots, chart/exhibit and drag & drop. You will have 6 hours to complete this exam which includes a pre-test tutorial and an optional break after 2.5 hours of testing and one after 3.5 hours of testing.
