International medical graduates, international medical students in their final clinical year and U.S. osteopaths must take the Medical Council of Canada Evaluating Examination (MCCEE) as a prerequisite for eligibility to the MCC Qualifying Examinations. It is a general assessment of basic medical knowledge in the principal disciplines of medicine and is designed to asses the skills and knowledge required at the level of a new medical graduate entering their first year of supervised postgraduate training. To apply for the MCCEE, you must create an account at physiciansapply.ca.

The MCCEEE is offered in both English and French at over 500 centers in 73 countries. There are 180 multiple-choice questions that you have four hours to complete.

The MCCEE covers the following areas:
  • Child heath
  • Maternal health
