National Home Inspection Exam (NHIE)

The National Home Inspection Exam (NHIE) is required for those that want to quality for full ASHI membership. Several states also require passing the NHIE for licensing. Make sure to check with your state regulatory agency to verify state requirements. Here are the requirements by state. The NHIE has a fee of $225 and is available year round at any PSI testing center locations. Advanced registration is required.

The exam consists of 200 multiple-choice questions and you have four hours to complete it.
