The APICS Certified in Production and Inventory Management (CPIM) program provides you with the ability to understand and evaluate production and inventory activities within a company’s global operations. The CPIM costs $190 for PLUS members and $290 for all others. It is available at an Pearson VUE testing facility throughout the year. Candidates are required to request an Authorization to Test (ATT) from APICS before scheduling the exam.

You will have three hours to complete the entire exam with no scheduled breaks. If you must leave the room during the exam, time will continue to run while you are out.

There are 180 multiple-choice questions (140 scored) on the exam with 105 of them about Basics of Supply Chain Management and 75 on the rest of the topics.

The CPIM program is divided into the following five process-oriented topics:
  • Basics of Supply Chain Management (BSCM)
  • Master Planning of Resources (MPR)
  • Detailed Scheduling & Planning (DSP)
  • Execution & Control of Operations (ECO)
  • Strategic Management of Resources (SMR)
